Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aSenior Project Managerto join theData Center Power & Control Division Starline Teamin Canonsburg, PA. As a Senior Project Manager, you will work with various departments within the Starline organization to project manage activities. This role will primarily support the engineering and the new product development teams to bridge communication and program tracking between the various functional groups within our company. The ideal applicant must have a natural ability to organize, follow through, build relationships, and influence individuals.
What Will You Do?
+ Lead and direct engineering projects from initiation to completion, following Starline’s stage gate process.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Build out project schedules utilizing the waterfall methodology.
+ Maintain and optimize Starline’s project management processes.
+ Maintain project documentation and lead project Gate meetings.
+ Schedule and lead cross-functional team meetings.
+ Use Smartsheet to track project schedules, budgets, and dashboards.
+ Break down major milestones into smaller deliverables.
+ Manage and review project milestone documents to ensure completion.
+ Take thorough meeting minutes and follow up on open actions.
+ Mentor jr. level project managers and interns.
+ Participate in team-based initiatives within Starline.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Education:
+ Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or relevant degree.
+ Master’s degree in business administration or similar is preferred.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) or working towards a PMP is preferred.
+ 7+ years of experience managing projects.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
+ Understanding of Engineering – must possess a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, so that technical guidance and support can be provided to the project team.
+ Strong communication skills – must be able to adapt between highly technical audiences and business audiences with ease.
+ Strong organizational skills – ability to take a complex set of related activities and identify dependencies.
+ Risk Management – be able to identify risks to schedule and quality; identify responsible individuals and follow up frequently to achieve resolution.
+ Critical Thinking – objectively analyze situations, stay calm, and distinguish between root cause vs. symptoms.
+ Task Management – must be able to multitask and prioritize work according to business needs.
+ Familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps (VSTS), or similar Project Management Tools.
Personal Qualities/Behaviors:
+ The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
+ Regularly required to communicate with others.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 15% of the time.
+ Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
