    What You'll Do

     

    We’re looking for a Financial Analyst III to join our Principal Asset Management business on our Financial Planning & Analysis team. In this role, the primary focus will be analyzing the consolidated financial performance, including the drivers of assets under management, and assisting in developing and communicating the forecast to senior leadership!

     

    + Analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.

    + Developing management reporting to highlight the status of key performance indicators.

    + Communicating financial results to senior leadership and key partners across the Principal enterprise.

    + Collaborating with multiple business partners to understand opportunities for asset and revenue growth.

    + Evaluating expenses and guiding the CFO on key changes in staffing across the global business.

    + Forecasting revenue and expenses for the global asset management business.

    + Driving the completion of ad-hoc and recurring analyses to uncover insights into the health of the business and benchmark against the competition.

     

    This team provides an opportunity to learn all the aspects of the global asset management operating model – from the investment management structure across asset classes through the various funds platforms and distribution services – and has the responsibility for understanding and communicating how strategic initiatives will impact performance to senior leadership.

    Who You Are

    + Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance or equivalent experience.

    + 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.

    + Must have strong sense of curiosity, problem solving, attention to detail and analytical skills.

    + Good oral and written communication skills.

    + Must have good interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.

    + Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment.

    Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

    + Knowledge of excel and PowerBI, or the ability to learn, is preferred.

    + Aptitude in programming languages is preferred.

     

    Salary Range Information

     

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

     

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

     

    $71250 - $95950 / year

     

    Time Off Program

     

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

    This role offers in-office, and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements at our Des Moines, IA headquarters. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
