    At our Center of Excellence in Lowell, AR, we test thousands of products that consumers use every day, assuring they meet the rigorous standards for performance and quality assurance. We are looking to hire a Laboratory Assistant for our Footwear testing department, who will help us to make the world a safer, more secure, and sustainable place to live, work, and play.

     

    This Laboratory Assistant will assist in the testing of various footwear samples. This position also includes data entry of testing results. Basic Microsoft 365 skills are necessary. This includes Outlook, Excel, and Word as well as internal programs Infinity and Corporate View. You will not be expected to have previous experience in these internal systems.

     

    + Operating testing equipment / machinery to collect and report out data.

    + Ensure products are compliant with local, state and federal laws and regulations.

    + Perform testing duties by following protocols to client requirements

    + Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.

    + Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.

    + Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.

    + Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.

    + As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.

    + Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.

    + Records and explains test results.

    + Reads and interprets results of tests.

    + Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.

    + Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.

    + Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.

    + As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.

    + Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.

    + Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.

    + Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.

    + Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.

    + Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.

    + Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

    + Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

    + Performs other duties as directed.

    + Required: Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teammates.

    + Required: Desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    + Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 suite, including Outlook.
