As an Infrastructure Security Engineer (ISE), you will be responsible for leading and participating in the architecture, design and development of security infrastructure equipment in support of BCA and MNJIS systems and services. You will provide technical leadership and analysis in BCA’s technical architecture to ensure technical requirements are met and promote the protection of BCA’s data security and privacy. You will be responsible for conducting system and procedural risk analysis, with a strong focus on security and CJIS compliance and advice and recommend appropriate approaches (Zero Trust Model) for minimizing or eliminating risks.

Operational duties for this position include implementation, monitoring and analysis across the security domain(s) and system configuration management of infrastructure; analysis of information security monitoring, boundary defense, endpoint defense, information security incident response, and vulnerability and threat management; and conducting system procedural risk analysis and monitoring with various tools.

This position requires an employee to be onsite in St Paul, Minnesota 3 days per week, with the opportunity to work from a telework location on other days.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of technical experience in infrastructure security.

+ Practical experience leading security programs such as IAM, MFA, ZTA or other similar large scale efforts which require organizational and technical skillsets.

+ Outstanding skill in integrating information security requirements in organizational IT efforts with both on-prem and cloud platforms.

+ Functional knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF. Determine if IT systems comply with cybersecurity efforts.

+ Advice, train and communicate with staff, including management on organizational cybersecurity efforts and risk management.

+ Manage relationships and consult with business units on security matters.

+ Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

+ Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

A master’s degree in Information Technology or a related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR a related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR a related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Functional knowledge of CJIS security policy and controls.

+ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

+ Ability to plan and conduct software scanning evaluation programs.

+ Strong analytical, verbal and written communications, problem solving, and human relations skills.

+ Expert in firewalls, routers, servers, intrusion detection/prevention and network infrastructure.

+ Experience with Software Defined Network Solutions.

+ Expert understanding of scanning software, such as Solar Winds Orion, Nessus Tenable.
