    Job Description

    The Technical Writer is part of the larger product operations’ technical writing team and is responsible for the content and the accuracy of technical documentation and instructional material related to software payment products, functions, and capabilities in a digital environment.

    Here's what you'll be doing:

    + Responsible for end user product documentation in collaboration with an Agile team.

    + Learning and creating documentation that adheres to the U.S. Bank Shield Content Design standards.

    + Writing clear and concise instructional and payment API documentation for customer integration partners and external developer audiences.

    + Working with product, UX, developers, quality assurance and solutions engineers to shape the entirety of the product and digital experience.

    Basic Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

    + At least 8 years experience with technical communication guidance, services, and support to information delivery solutions, knowledge management systems, and communication strategies.

    Preferred Skills/Experience

    + Experience in software technical writing (preferably in the financial technology industry).

    + Experience documenting APIs.

    + Experience working on Agile teams.

    + Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the intended audiences.

    + Experience working in a digital writing environment with evolving processes, working in applications and on platforms.

    + Experience working directly with developers, architects, solutions engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to document (and define) new products and features for end user customers.

    + Experience writing common forms of developer documentation (API reference, integration content, digital customer guides).

    + Proficiency in mark down language. Working knowledge of programming languages (HTML, XML, JSON, YAML).

    + Proficiency in working in a content management system (Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Drupal, Visual Studio Code).

    + Proficiency working in a backlog management tool (Jira, VersionOne).

    + Working knowledge of communications style guides ( _Microsoft Manual of Style_ , _AP Style Guide, etc._ ).

     

    _The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days._

    The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00 - $111,760.00
