Overview

Responsible for assisting in the supervision for GLP Lab spaces and general office space cleaning for the Philadelphia ATU campus. Position may assist with the supervisor of both ATU and contract personnel.

Responsibilities

+ Assists with overseeing the performance of Lab Aides and Cleaning Staff in area of responsibility

+ Understands proper cleaning technique and importance of the cleaning/sanitization program has on the GLP/GMP Laboratory environment

+ Assists with the preparation and adjustments schedules

+ Trains, coaches and mentors Lab Aides and Cleaning Staff within area of responsibility

+ Oversees the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment

+ Oversees cleaning/sanitization solution and material preparation

+ Assists with the ordering, receipt, organization and inventory of cleaning/sanitization materials and tools

+ Identifies and communicates material discrepancies

+ Understands basic concepts of various lab equipment to ensure proper sanitization performance

+ Oversees compliance to regulatory requirements and current Good Manufacturing and Laboratory Practices (cGMPs, GLPs) of operations within scope of responsibility

+ Oversees execution of, follows and executes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

+ Oversees execution of, follows and executes lab cleaning procedures and forms

+ Participates in the development of technical documents such as non- conforming events and deviations

+ Manages performance of overall facility cleaning staff including escalations to account management as needed

+ Assists with contract scope development

+ Suggests, participates, implements and leads continuous improvement efforts

+ Assist with complex technical problem solving in area of responsibility

+ Assists in making complex decisions in area of responsibility

+ Participates in regulatory inspections and client audits

+ Regularly interacts and deals with problems in a cross functional manner with groups that support testing labs and area of responsibility

+ Cross trains in other areas and may be utilized to perform above job functions across the entire site

+ Assists management with the appraisals of cleaning staff

+ Assists management with coaching and counseling cleaning staff

+ May perform the cleaning of labs and lab equipment

+ Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience / Education

HS Diploma or equivalent required and 3+ years relevant technical experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

+ Possess basic technical knowledge and background on site sanitization requirements

+ Understands regulatory requirements and cGXPs within scope of responsibility and is able to communicate gaps, coach and mentor others

+ Addresses and improve compliance regulatory gaps/issues

+ Possess basic computer skills and able to efficiently use basic Microsoft applications

+ Suggests, participates, implements and leads continuous improvement efforts

+ Assist with complex technical problem solving in area of responsibility

+ Assists in making complex decisions in area of responsibility

Physical Requirements:

+ Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise

+ Must be able to work in Lab setting with Biohazards /various Chemicals

+ Must be able to wear appropriate PPE

+ Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels

+ Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time

+ Ability to Lift 50 lbs routinely

+ Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach

+ Ability to push/pull 50 lbs routinely/ often / occasionally

+ Clarity of Vision

+ Ability to identify and distinguish colors

+ Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions

+ Ability to climb Ladders / Stairs / Scaffolding

+ Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing

+ Inside/outside working conditions

+ Works in production environment with exposure to latex and bleach. Potential exposure to noise and equipment hazards (i.e. vacuum pumps, pressurized vessels), dangerous materials (i.e. chemicals, solvents, pathogens), freezer burns, allergens and strong odors
