    Job Description

    Now is a great time to join Danfoss as a **Master Technician, Test Lab** located in our Ames, IA facility. The Master Technician will be recognized as a technical expert in the execution of hydraulic product tests and be a key contributor in the validation efforts for both new and current products. This position requires extensive experience with hydraulics, instrumentation, and laboratory testing.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Execute test requests, including setup and troubleshooting complex hydraulic systems.

    • Collect test data using a variety of sensors and data acquisition equipment.

    • Interpret and document test results.

    • Lead high-impact test lab projects with minimal guidance.

    • Coach and mentor other lab technicians and engineers.

    • Champion safety within the test lab by proactively identifying and correcting potential hazards.

    • Perform maintenance on test lab equipment.

    • Provide recommendations on improvements to test specifications and lab processes.

     

    Background & Skills

    Required (basic) qualifications

    • 8+ years of experience with testing hydraulic systems.

    • Expert level understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition.

    • Expert level understanding and ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems.

    • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, hydraulic schematics, and electronic schematics.

    • Application knowledge of hydraulic systems.

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize common shop tools.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Associate degree in Fluid Power Technology.

    • IFPS fluid power certifications.

    • Prior Experience with Dewesoft data acquisition.

    • Prior Experience with Siemens PLCs.

    • Knowledge of Danfoss Hydraulic Pumps, Motors, and Transmissions.
