POSITION DETAILS
Queens College is part of the City University of New York (CUNY). The mission of the Budget Office at Queens College is to facilitate the optimal use of the College’s financial resources and to support academic and administrative resource planning and budgeting with timely, accurate information.
The Budget Office provides financial reports to division heads and special program directors, empowering them to make informed fiscal decisions.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will collaborate with Queens College and CUNY financial leadership to support its operations and strategic initiatives.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Prepare annual and multiple-year operating budget and financial models for review and approval by the Chief Financial Officer.
• Liaison with Deans, Department Chairs and Program Directors regarding unit budgets and financial matters and assist in developing their budget where necessary.
• Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, facilitate the review, approval and processing of budget modification requests as appropriate and ensure timely responses to departmental budget issues and questions as they arise.
• Assist in developing and implementing budgetary policies and procedures.
• Develop tools and processes for budget tracking and analysis.
• Monitor expenditures to ensure they align with the budget.
• Assist in identifying funding for unanticipated needs.
• Ensure adherence to budget regulations and policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to foster cross-functional teamwork.
• Participate in the fiscal year close process.
• Performs additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
Master’s degree in Finance, Data Analysis or Higher Education Administration is preferred.

- Prepares guidelines, funding formulas, and models for the annual budget
- Supports strategic planning activities; assesses outcomes and makes recommendations regarding resource allocations.
- Monitors and analyzes budget expenditures
- Assists in developing budgeting policies and procedures, and interprets University-wide policy
- May hire, supervise, and train budget and/or clerical staff.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$90,375 - $104,067
