Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join the Geospatial Group of a leading telecom company. This fully remote position will support a data-intensive, map-based front-end application by designing and maintaining high-performance backend services, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.

Youll work closely with front-end engineers, data engineers, and DevOps to ensure the backend infrastructure is scalable, secure, and responsive to the needs of telecom-focused geospatial applications. This role is ideal for an experienced developer who enjoys working across infrastructure, APIs, and application services that drive interactive mapping and spatial data tools.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of backend development experience, with strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.

In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and backend service management.

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.

Strong understanding of API development and management, including authentication, rate limiting, and best practices for performance.

Solid understanding of software design principles, backend scalability, and application security.

Experience supporting front-end applications with data-rich, API-driven backendsespecially those involving geospatial data or visualization.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and in distributed teams. Experience with spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS), geospatial APIs, or working in a GIS or mapping-heavy environment.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

Experience working in or with broadband or geospatial industries. null
