Job Summary and Qualifications

What you should expect to do in this role:
+ You will establish IV access as delegated by a RN.
+ You will provide assistance with patient care, transportation of patients, specimens and supplies; cleaning and stocking the department, patient rooms and transport ambulance; other duties as assigned
+ You will perform intra facility transport
+ Your job will perform assigned tasks and activities according to skill level and patient needs as assessed by the RN
+ You will support nursing personnel in providing care to patients and assists with providing a safe, quiet, clean, organized environment for healthcare delivery
+ You will answer telephone and intercom efficiently and courteously, relaying messages and calls to appropriate personnel and other departments as needed
+ Your role maintains records, transcribes physician orders, and assures orders are carried out in an expeditious manner
What qualifications you will need:
+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the AHA or ARC
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within the first 90 days of hire
+ Minimum 2 years of experience as a field paramedic with an EMS agency and/or clinical experience working in a hospital - Current clinical competency must be demonstrated and additional education/training may be required
+ Ability to routinely multi-task in a busy, stressful, fast -paced environment and take appropriate action
+ High School Diploma or GED required
+ Current certification/licensure as a Paramedic or EMTA (Emergency Medical Technician Advanced) per state requirements
