Position Summary/Description:
The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and organized individual to fill the full-time, permanent position of Associate Director of Scholarships & Global. Reporting directly to the Associate Provost and Director of Scholarships and Student Aid, the Associate Director will oversee scholarship awarding processes and manage designated segments of the institution’s financial aid operations.
This leadership role requires a deep understanding of federal legislation and regulations related to scholarships and financial aid, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices. The Associate Director will serve as the office expert in the intersection of need-based and non-need-based scholarships with financial aid to support the university’s mission. Additionally, they will advise the Associate Provost on strategies and policies that enhance scholarship operations.
Key responsibilities include supervising professional and support staff, conducting need analysis, and providing personalized counseling to students and parents. The Associate Director will also collaborate with Enrollment Division stakeholders to develop strategic marketing and awarding practices for scholarships, as well as generate reports and dashboards that support the University’s scholarship fundraising initiatives.
Education and Experience:
At least three years of relevant experience with financial aid programs are strongly preferred. Experience working with PeopleSoft highly preferred.
Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a large public university setting. He/she will demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills, along with demonstrated leadership and counseling skills. The position requires an individual with a good eye for detail, exceptional organizational and time-management skills, and a strong work ethic.
