    Job Description

    Position Purpose:

    We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance Technician. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and development in the field of wastewater treatment. The employee will work closely with experienced technicians to learn the necessary skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a wastewater treatment plant effectively.

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Learn and understand the principles and processes involved in wastewater treatment plant operations.

    + Assist in the operation and maintenance of various equipment and systems, including pumps, valves, blowers, and chemical feed systems.

    + Monitor and control the treatment process to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and permit requirements.

    + Perform routine inspections and tests to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of treatment processes.

    + Assist in the collection and analysis of wastewater samples for laboratory testing.

    + Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment and systems, including troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.

    + Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    + Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in wastewater treatment operations.

    + Maintain accurate records and documentation related to plant operations and maintenance activities.

    Work Environment:

    + Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including working in confined spaces.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Background:

    + High School Diploma/GED is required.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    + Basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment is desirable.

    + Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

    + Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.

    + Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.

    + Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

    + Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.

    Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

    + Valid driver's license is required.

    + Must be able to obtain a Wastewater certification, minimum Grade II, within 24 months.

    Additional Information

    **Pay Range:** $32.48 to $34.08 per hour.
