Description
The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to help drive global occupancy planning decision making and lead special projects. GREF is responsible for Amazon’s corporate office portfolio, creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazon’s corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations, all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon. Within GREF, the Global Occupancy Planning (OP) team establishes and builds all mechanisms and systems that GREF utilizes for managing global space allocation, working closely with GREF OP Tools, GREF Tech and GREF’s Space Planning teams within their respective regional portfolio management orgs.
In this role, you will help drive data-informed decisions across the business and play a key role in analyzing customer trends andforecasts and identifying actionable insights that enable us to better support our customers. You will use your analytical mind to drive operations, strategy, and planning. You will ensure that we are capturing and surfacing the right data and information to make informed business decisions, working closely with cross functional members of the team and partner teams. Additionally, you will help lead special projects to improve planning processes and improve customer experience through in-depth research and analysis. This high visibility role will impact the success of the GREF organization and directly impact business partners across the company. The position requires strong customer centric strategic planning, analytical skills, problem solving, and excellent communication skills. This role will lead with curiosity and work collaboratively to solve problems across complex systems. A track record of delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment is a must. Being self-driven, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities is a key to success. This role is a great fit for someone who is sensitive to the diverse perspectives of stakeholders and works with them to resolve differences.
Key job responsibilities
• Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover insights and identify root causes across ambiguous and evolving problem spaces
• Analyze large data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Lead special projects through delivery of insights and recommendations to senior leadership
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve data quality and reporting automation
• Drive ad-hoc analyses on space and occupancy planning and customer trends
• Assess business opportunities and communicate trade-offs with portfolio strategy and product teams to ensure we prioritize the most critical and impactful work
• Monitor existing metrics, support development of new metrics, and partner with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities
• Actively participate in team planning, stakeholder management, and roadmap discussions, ensuring analytics solutions are aligned to business priorities and timelines
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience as business analyst, data analyst, or similar role
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience conducting sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable deliverables, messages, and presentations
- Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Quicksight, Power BI)
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s Degree
- Experience conducting business and financial analysis, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting
- Superior analytical and quantitative skills, including ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
- Experience in real estate strategy, occupancy planning, or space data management
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Ability to work in a highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environment; willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in wherever necessary
- An entrepreneurial drive; proven ability to influence others
- Track record of performance excellence
