    AWS Boost supports Data Center Operations globally define, plan, execute, monitor, and validate technician-facing work. We increase throughput by prioritizing high value work that maximizes capacity delivery while protecting security, safety, and availability through software auditable controls.

    Key job responsibilities

    As Senior Manager of Boost Elements, you will own software solutions that efficiently manage data center parts to ensure that technicians have the right parts, at the right time to facilitate the accurate and timely execution of tasks. You programmatically define and enforce policies for handling, allocating, deploying, and destroying parts. You are expected to excel when faced with ambiguity. You have high judgement and understand which opportunities drive the most strategic value for the business. You will not be limited by the present and will constantly look ahead to the future. You enjoy working in a collaborative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and are comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams. You have excellent analytical capabilities, be comfortable diving deep into data, and have strong writing skills. You have a track record of understanding customer needs and delivering technology solutions to address those needs. This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the AWS Infrastructure business.

     

    A day in the life

     

    We're looking for someone special to help us transform how AWS runs its data centers through our AWS Boost platform. As a Senior Software Development Manager, you'll lead multiple teams building tools that thousands of technicians use every day to keep AWS running smoothly.

     

    This isn't just about managing engineers—it's about setting the direction for AWS Boost, our unified platform that's making data center work simpler and more efficient worldwide. Your decisions will impact how Amazon's cloud infrastructure operates, balancing what our technicians need today with your vision for tomorrow.

     

    Your teams will build software that helps data center technicians discover, plan, and execute their work more effectively. You'll guide the effort to bring different systems together into one seamless experience, making it easier for our teams to maintain the technology that powers AWS.

    About the team

    Our services are at the heart of providing customers with the right computing services, in the right region, at the right time! The AWS Data Center Automation team is responsible for building the systems that automate and orchestrate the physical work processes that occur inside all of AWS’ global data centers. Our talented team of data center engineers depend on our systems to perform their work safely, securely, efficiently, and free of defects. Our team is responsible for billions of dollars in capital and the ultimate success of our core cloud infrastructure.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 10+ years of engineering experience

     

    - 5+ years of engineering team management experience

     

    - 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience

     

    - Experience partnering with product or program management teams

     

    - Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience partnering with product and program management teams

     

    - Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
