    _We are looking for you to join our team as a_ **_Principal Manufacturing Engineer_** _based out of Apopka, FL._

     

    _As a_ **_Principal Manufacturing Engineer_** _at Northrop Grumman, you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation.     _This position may be filled as a_ **_Principal Manufacturing Engineer_** _based on the qualifications below._

    _Core Responsibilities:_

    + _Accountable for technical ownership of process, optimization, and disposition including top-level and subassemblies._

    + _Accountable for the creation and maintenance of manufacturing Work Orders and Routers, and disposition of non-conforming parts and assemblies via site Manufacturing Execution System (MES)._

    + _Support of manufacturing capacity planning optimization for responsible production lines._

    + _Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives._

    + _Support of Digital Transformation initiatives._

    + _Accountable for process control, quality, safety, delivery, and rework metrics for responsible production lines._

    + _Support of manufacturing proposals & basis-of-estimates (BOE’s) for potential contracts._

    + _Solid written and verbal communication skills._

    + _Solid interpersonal and critical thinking skills._

    + _Solid presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas._

    + _Commitment to ethics and compliance_

    + _Ability to collaborate in a team environment._

    + _Ability for infrequent travel (<10%)._

    + _The ability help make decisions regarding process improvement?_

    + _Accountable for the creation and release of:_

    + _Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM)_

    + _Manufacturing Changes (MC)_

    + _Work Instructions/Manufacturing Process Plans (MPP)_

    + _Standard Manufacturing Process (SMP) documents_ _via Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system._

    + _General knowledge of other related disciplines._

    + _Passion for achieving manufacturing and operational results._

    + _Action-oriented with the ability to make quick decisions in response to changing conditions._

    _Basic Qualifications_

    + **_Bachelor’s degree_** _with 5 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation;_ **_OR_** **_master’s degree_** _with 3 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or manufacturing operations._ **_Note_** _: An additional 4 years of exempt/professional-level experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree._

    + _Experience in collecting and analyzing production data to identify trends_

    + _U.S. citizenship_

    + _The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) secret clearance._

    _Preferred Qualifications_

    + _Aerospace or defense product experience: Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) Systems, Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (LASER), Optics and Imaging._

    + _Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field._

    + _High proficiency experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) problem-solving and Continuous Improvement (CI)._

    + _Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A)._

    + _Experience with Process Control Method (SPC/control charts)._

    + _Experience with Process Capability Analysis (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk)._

    + _Broad technical experience in Value Stream manufacturing operations._

    + _Experience with Risk Management identification and mitigation._

    + _Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES)._

    + _Experience with Siemens Teamcenter Product Life-cycle Management (PLM)._

    + _Experience with SAP S/4 HANA Cloud ERP system._

    + _Experience in CREO CAD Software or equivalent._

    + _Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)_

    Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
