Phlebotomy SupervisorLocation: Elmira, NY Employer: Arnot HealthSchedule: Full-time, Day Shift

About the Role:

Arnot Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Phlebotomy Supervisor to lead and support our inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy teams. This is a working leadership role where you will guide daily operations, ensure high standards of patient care, and foster a collaborative, efficient, and compliant work environment.

What You’ll Do:

+ Supervise daily activities of phlebotomy staff, including scheduling and performance management

+ Perform phlebotomy and other duties alongside your team, ensuring proper specimen collection and labeling

+ Resolve specimen-related issues and support clinical teams with accurate, timely lab services

+ Train new hires and support ongoing development of staff

+ Ensure compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulatory requirements

+ Investigate incidents or errors and implement corrective action as needed

+ Maintain SOPs, lab inventory, and documentation

+ Collaborate with Lab and Health System leadership on improvement initiatives and operational planning

+ Act as a resource to staff, patients, and healthcare professionals across the organization

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required

+ Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field preferred

Experience:

+ Supervisory or lead phlebotomy experience preferred

+ Must meet NYSED and federal qualifications for a lab supervisor (if licensed in Clinical Laboratory Science)

Skills:

+ Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment

+ Comfortable using lab-related computer systems and managing documentation

Physical & Work Requirements:

+ Light to moderate physical activity (standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs)

+ Typical clinical lab setting

+ Exposure Category I: Risk of exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues—PPE provided
