Description
We are looking for a dedicated Benefits Specialist to join a non-profit organization in Kansas City, Missouri. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of employee benefits and wellness programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing excellent support to team members. Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and benefits brokers, ensuring smooth communication and operations.
• Manage and reconcile departmental invoices, ensuring timely payment and accurate record-keeping.
• Support leadership in gathering information and creating reports during the renewal process for health, life, and retirement plans.
• Coordinate required filings, notifications, and reporting for benefits programs, including Medicare Part D and Form 5500, while distributing mandated notices.
• Assist employees with benefits enrollment, address inquiries, and resolve claims-related issues with professionalism and care.
• Oversee compliance with benefits-related regulations, ensuring all required notices and documentation are properly handled.
• Partner with the People Experience team to deliver exemplary service and streamline benefits processes.
• Conduct audits of benefits programs to ensure accuracy and adherence to organizational policies.
• Collaborate on wellness initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations to propose improvements to existing programs.
Requirements • Proven experience in benefits administration, ideally within a non-profit or similar organization.
• Strong proficiency in CRM systems and tools.
• Familiarity with auditing processes and compliance standards in benefits management.
• Knowledge of employee benefit plans, including health, dental, vision, and retirement options.
• Ability to manage claim administration and resolve issues effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with employees and brokers.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
