Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to lead and oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing organization in Eagan, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, managing budgets, and fostering a high-performing accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the executive team to shape the company's financial direction while supporting sustainable growth.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements.
• Provide in-depth analysis of financial performance metrics and deliver actionable insights to the executive team.
• Conduct margin analysis and collaborate with sales and product teams to guide pricing strategies.
• Review and update costing processes, including labor and shared cost allocations, to ensure precision and efficiency.
• Lead the development of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic goals.
• Manage compliance processes, including audits, internal controls, and treasury operations, to maintain financial integrity.
• Mentor and develop an accounting team, fostering growth and implementing best practices.
• Drive process improvements and modernize financial operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with broader organizational objectives.
• Represent the accounting function in executive meetings, contributing to high-level decision-making and strategic planning. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, margin analysis, and financial forecasting.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and tools, including ADP, Concur, and CRM platforms.
• Proven ability to lead teams, build strategic plans, and influence executive-level decisions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with business operating systems such as Traction or 4DX is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience managing audits, compliance processes, and cash flow operations.
