Robert Half is proud to partner with one of Riverside's most well-established, respected law firms that is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Attorney to join its team. The firm specializes in civil litigation, primarily focusing on public entity defense cases that range from employment discrimination and medical malpractice to constitutional law claims and jail-related lawsuits. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile federal cases and contribute to impactful legal matters.

Responsibilities:

• Manage civil litigation cases from inception through trial, including overseeing all phases of case progression.

• Conduct discovery processes, including depositions of experts and plaintiffs.

• Draft and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment, while preparing complex legal briefs.

• Represent clients in court appearances and hearings with professionalism and precision.

• Prepare and file pleadings in alignment with case requirements.

• Collaborate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and witnesses to ensure effective communication and case strategy.

• Meet billable hour requirements of 1,920 annually, averaging 160 per month.

• Provide detailed case analysis and legal strategy recommendations to clients and partners.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with defense work.

• Proven expertise in handling complex litigation matters, including public entity defense.

• Strong skills in drafting motions, conducting depositions, and managing discovery processes.

• Excellent courtroom presence and ability to handle court appearances independently.

• Ability to meet and exceed billable hour requirements while maintaining high-quality case outcomes.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and legal professionals.

• Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the California State Bar.

This attorney should live local enough to Riverside to comfortably work on a hybrid remote schedule. Attorneys are generally onsite at least 3x per week.
