Description

Robert Half has a brand new opening for a Cloud Database Administrator with a growing client of ours in Cape Coral, FL.

Position is full-time hours, HYBRID schedule (2-3 days in-office w/ 2-3 days WFH, flexible on this) BUT MUST BE LOCAL.

Compensation ranging $110-140K on W2 depending on experience. (Can go higher if structured as a long-term 1099)

Top Skills/Experience Looking For:

+ 5+ years of Database Administration experience across multiple platforms

+ Azure, Azure DevOps

+ AWS

+ Scripting languages

+ Is a plus to have (but not required) - Any Snowflake experience or Healthcare industry experience

Key Responsibilities

+ Design and implement robust database architectures that support high availability, disaster recovery, and scalable performance across multiple database platforms

+ Lead the development and maintenance of database clusters, implementing load balancing strategies and monitoring system health

+ Architect and deploy cloud-native database solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure

+ Establish and maintain backup strategies, recovery procedures, and security protocols for all database systems

+ Optimize database performance through monitoring, tuning, and proactive maintenance

+ Develop and implement automation solutions for routine database administration tasks

+ Provide technical leadership in database architecture decisions and mentor junior team members

+ Manage database migrations, upgrades, and patch implementations with minimal service disruption

+ Create and maintain documentation for database procedures, configurations, and disaster recovery plans

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

+ Deep expertise in relational databases, with a strong understanding of database clustering, replication, and high availability solutions

+ Proven experience with cloud-native database implementations (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

+ Experience with Big Data technologies and data warehousing solutions

+ Strong knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements

+ Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning

+ Experience with automated backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures

+ Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar)

Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with database monitoring tools and alerting systems

+ Knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)

+ Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

+ Professional certifications in relevant database technologies

+ Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks
