Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the finance team with critical tasks. Responsibilities:

• Accurately record a variety of electronic payment types, such as credit cards, payment plans, checks, and awards, into the student information and general ledger systems.

• Collaborate with the Bursar to prepare and send invoices and rosters to key partners.

• Perform or assist in financial reconciliations to ensure accurate data in the student information and general ledger systems.

• Communicate with teams such as Student Financial Services, Registrar, and Student Support to share information and access student billing records.

• Support the Finance Team during the annual audit by gathering documentation, responding to inquiries, and assisting with work papers.

• Aid the Bursar in processing annual 1098-T forms and completing special projects or reports as needed.

• Process refunds for students or partners when overpayments occur.

• Conduct weekly reviews to adjust Bursar Holds on student accounts based on outstanding balances. Requirements • At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP solutions such as Dynamics NAV and Unit 4 Business World.

• Strong skills in account coding, reconciliation, and analysis.

• Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat for document handling.

• Knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting entries.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and departments.
