Do you want to become a critical part of an innovative company? We are working on a Staff Accountant role in the Hartford area! The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation. You'll be interested in this position if you want to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes.

What you get to do every day:

- In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

- Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

- Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

- Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

- Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash and prepaid expenses

- Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

Requirements Include:

- General ledger experience

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and /or experience

- Reliable technology and analytical abilities

- Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation

Requirements

• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Expertise in maintaining and updating the General Ledger

• Ability to process and record Journal Entries accurately

• Experience with Month End Close procedures
