Description We are looking for a skilled Construction Bookkeeper to join our team in Henrico, Virginia. In this role, you will manage key financial processes for construction projects, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with industry standards. This position requires a strong background in construction accounting and proficiency with tools like QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records to maintain up-to-date and error-free accounts.
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
• Prepare and manage monthly financial close processes, including journal entries and reporting.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to track and analyze financial data effectively.
• Handle AIA billing and construction-specific cost accounting to support project profitability.
• Collaborate with project managers and consultants to ensure financial alignment with project goals.
• Maintain detailed and organized financial records to facilitate audits and internal reviews.
• Assist with data entry and ensure all transactions are documented accurately.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes within the construction domain. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of construction cost accounting and project-based financial processes.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with AIA billing and its application in construction projects.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple financial tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
