• Accounting Manager/Supervisor

    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee financial reporting, compliance filings, and balance sheet reconciliations. This role will require close collaboration with various internal departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting while contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with statutory accounting principles.

    • Oversee the accuracy and consistency of data within statutory filings and schedules, working closely with data providers.

    • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.

    • Coordinate monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and entries are accurate.

    • Collaborate with internal departments such as underwriting, claims, actuarial, reinsurance, and compliance to streamline accounting processes.

    • Perform ad hoc journal entries and financial analyses to support decision-making and compliance.

    • Provide support for internal and external audit requests, including variance analysis and detailed explanations.

    • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements, implementing solutions to enhance workflows.

    • Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

    • Serve as a liaison with corporate teams, including management reporting, treasury, and tax, to address cross-functional accounting needs.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • 6-9 years of experience in financial reporting or analysis.

    • 2 years in the insurance accounting or finance industry.

    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex financial data issues.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle tight deadlines and multiple priorities.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership.

    • Preferred experience with Oracle financial systems.
