Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Somerset County, New Jersey. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, particularly in managing accounts payable processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in accounting to contribute to a dynamic team in the retail furniture industry.
Responsibilities:
• Process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Handle incoming payments and manage bank deposits as needed.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly recorded.
• Investigate and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies in collaboration with customers.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by addressing past-due accounts and ensuring timely communication.
• Identify payment discrepancies, notify management of concerns, and recommend actions for collection on overdue accounts.
• Oversee vendor credit card charges and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Review and approve shipping costs to maintain proper expense tracking.
• Manage manufacturer incentives, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
• Provide support to the accounting team and management, contributing to accurate financial reporting and cross-departmental collaboration.
Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and general accounting functions.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Concur and ERP platforms.
• Strong knowledge of account coding and accrual accounting principles.
• Familiarity with financial services tools such as ADP and Automated Clearing House (ACH).
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
