Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and reporting for our company in North Dallas, Texas. This role involves managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance, and providing accurate financial analysis. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial data while supporting the retail division's operational success.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the Accounts Payable specialist’s workload and ensure timely management of the AP mailbox.

• Record daily cash and credit card transactions across all relevant general ledger accounts.

• Analyze and review cash and accounts receivable transactions to support effective collections.

• Oversee weekly payment runs, including check processing and vendor remittances.

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly financial statement close process.

• Conduct thorough reconciliations and reviews of all balance sheet and bank accounts.

• Lead the monthly financial statement close process for the retail division, including preparation of journal entries and review of abnormal items.

• Address accounting system updates, including adding new accounts and store locations as needed.

• Maintain and validate general ledger data, including year-end closings and tax reporting schedules.

• Provide analytical problem-solving to enhance accounting processes and ensure desired outcomes are achieved.

Requirements • Strong expertise in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

• Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and journal entry preparation.

• Extensive experience with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

• Ability to analyze and address discrepancies in financial data with an entrepreneurial mindset.

• Knowledge of tax reporting requirements and processes, including preparation of tax-related adjusting entries.

• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple accounting tasks effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with relevant experience.
