    General Manager, Operations – Agriculture Industry

    Position Overview:

    The General Manager of Operations will oversee all technical and administrative functions, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations that align with organizational goals. This leader will guide operational initiatives, optimize production performance, and drive strategic decision-making to support marketing and sales objectives within the agriculture industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Production Oversight: Ensure production processes run at peak efficiency to meet the strategic goals of the marketing and sales teams.

    + Operational Leadership: Manage the day-to-day operation and work programs to achieve predetermined objectives and targets consistently.

    + Efficiency & Cost Management: Conduct regular analyses to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures that enhance operational efficiency.

    + Policy Development & Improvement: Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance operational policies and procedures.

    + Preventative Maintenance: Ensure implementation of an effective preventative maintenance program along with fixed asset management practices.

    + Management Reporting: Prepare comprehensive management reports.

    + Issue Resolution: Address and resolve major operational concerns from contractors, suppliers, and other production areas.

    + Procurement Management: Oversee procurement of materials and supplies.

    + Sanitation & Inventory Control: Enforce proper sanitation practices and oversee inventory record maintenance to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    + Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE) standards, including food safety protocols.

    Requirements

    + Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of managerial experience in the food manufacturing, agriculture or agri-business field.

    + Skillset: Strong background in financial management and analysis, and operations management.

    + Education: Bachelor's degree required; preference for candidates with an MBA or similar advanced degree.
