Description

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Director of Tax to join our clients firm in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is ideal for a tax expert with a strong background in corporate and not-for-profit tax preparation, as well as expertise in handling complex tax forms like. The position offers a clear path for growth, with the opportunity to advance within the firm and contribute to the continued success of our practice. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, and trust returns (1041).

• Provide tax planning and compliance services to both corporate and not-for-profit clients.

• Collaborate with partners to ensure seamless management of client accounts and support the transition of responsibilities from retiring leadership.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and implement best practices to ensure compliance.

• Utilize UltraTax software to efficiently manage and process tax filings.

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service and advice.

• Participate in firm-wide initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

• Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members to foster growth.

• Contribute to the strategic direction of the firm and support plans for long-term success.

Requirements • A minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on corporate and not-for-profit tax.

• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, and 1041.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA certification or eligibility to obtain CPA certification.

• Strong familiarity with UltraTax software.

• Proven track record of reliability and commitment to long-term roles.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
