Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This Contract-to-permanent position involves managing and analyzing financial data, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting various programs by providing insightful financial analysis and maintaining compliance with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Perform in-depth accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis to support daily operations.

• Prepare, reconcile, and analyze financial statements, trial balances, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Maintain and oversee general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.

• Assist in the preparation and submission of tax forms and year-end financial reports.

• Provide recommendations to improve workflow efficiency and implement corrective actions as necessary.

• Support the development and maintenance of financial information systems and train users on their proper utilization.

• Review and enhance financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to management objectives.

• Prepare fund balance projections, monitor revenue and expenditures, and assist with year-end budget closing processes.

Requirements • Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and financial statement preparation.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Knowledge of preparing and reconciling trial balances and other financial reports.

• Familiarity with general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset management.

• Experience with financial controls and compliance processes.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external agencies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
