Description We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Director of Accounting to lead the financial operations of our hospitality business in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is pivotal in overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving financial planning to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in hospitality finance, a strong analytical mindset, and a proven ability to lead teams effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Lead the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans to ensure alignment with business objectives.

• Analyze financial performance against budgets and provide detailed variance reports to management.

• Collaborate with department heads and the General Manager to enhance cost control and operational efficiency.

• Conduct financial analyses to support strategic decisions, including pricing strategies and capital investment projects.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and financial regulations.

• Strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain the accuracy of financial data.

• Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with 3+ years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles specific to the hospitality sector, including hotel and restaurant operations.

• Proficiency in financial software systems such as BlackLine, ADP Financial Services, and Concur.

• Strong expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, and budget processes.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on fostering growth and development.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving financial excellence.
