Our client is a dynamic and fast-paced production company specializing in live events and brand experiences. As their staffing partner, we’re excited to help them find a results-driven Controller to oversee financial management and play an integral role in driving operational excellence as they continue to grow.
The Controller will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the group of companies, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls. This role requires a proactive, highly organized finance leader who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and can confidently balance financial complexity with innovative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, complex inter company transactions and Revenue Recognition
+ Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close out processes
+ Manage project-based accounting, including job costing and event profitability analysis
+ Collaborate with departments to track budgets vs actuals
+ Prepare internal and external financial statements in accordance with GAAP
+ Lead cash flow forecasting and working capital management
+ Develop and maintain internal controls and financial procedures
+ Liaise with bankers and third parties as when required
+ Support financial planning and analysis (FP& A), including budgeting and forecasting
+ Review of payroll processing and compliance with labor regulations (including 1099 and W-2 contractors)
+ Implement accounting systems and improve automation for scaling operations
+ Maintain compliance with 401k filling, local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or preferred
+ 5–10 years of accounting experience with business management experience as a requirement
+ Experience in the entertainment, production, or live events industry strongly preferred
+ Advanced proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tipalti, NetSuite, or similar ERP)
+ Familiarity with production workflows is a plus
+ Strong Excel and analytical skills
+ Proven leadership and team management experience
+ High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
