Duties Description As a Teacher, you will teach elementary, secondary, or special subjects including• Preparing course and unit outlines, lesson plans, and individual education plans• Evaluating and documenting individuals’ performance and progress • Collaborating with treatment team to work toward treatment goals and objectives
Minimum Qualifications New York City Children's Center is recruiting Teachers to provide educational instruction to individuals with mental illness during the summer session; July 1, 2025 – August 23, 2025. This is a temporary position. Teacher 1 – Bachelor’s degree including satisfactory completion of the semester hours required for the teaching specialty.Teacher 2 – Current New York State Education Department initial certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.Teacher 3 – Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty.Teacher 4 - Current New York State Education Department permanent/professional certification in classroom teaching in the appropriate specialty and 2 years of post-certification (initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in that same specialty.
