    Summary This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. Responsibilities Serves as the first line supervisor for the Auto Craft Shop directing the work of other Automotive Workers, who are responsible for performing automotive repairs as well as instruction to auto hobby shop patrons. Assists and instructs auto craft hobby patrons in automotive maintenance and repair; demonstrating the use of shop tools and equipment required for the job tasks and emphasizing safety practices. Assists with the ordering of equipment and supplies necessary to the Auto Hobby/Care Operation. Completes employee performance appraisals. Informs higher level supervisor of anticipated vacancies, increase in workload or other circumstances to obtain replacements or additional staff. Ensures monthly inventories of controlled property are performed and reports discrepancies to supervisor as they occur. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess the following: working knowledge of performing automotive repairs, providing instruction to patrons in automotive maintenance and repair, use and operate shop tools and equipment to perform a variety of tasks, AND the ability to read, understand, and apply instructions and other materials (job aids, pamphlets etc.), AND experience leading or supervising a work team/crew. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are NOT authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is NOT in the Government's interest. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime pay for working more than 8 hours per day or more than 40 hours per workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. An FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of their regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between 1500 and 2400. An employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between 2300-0800. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will NOT be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
