Responsibilities Require the use of trade practices associated with landscaping and painting as well as work involving motor vehicle operations. Incumbent performs a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and minor repairs of buildings and associated equipment. Prepares and submits work orders for repairs requiring additional expertise. Performs minor grounds maintenance to include ensuring entrances and exits are free from debris, sidewalks are clear of ice/snow, and surfaces are maintained according to safety requirements. Required to operate up to 7.5-ton trucks. Performs operational maintenance on park vehicles and equipment. Operates electric, gasoline or diesel-powered forklift trucks. May conduct and document daily safety inspections of facility and grounds. Monitors access to the facility and grounds to ensure security is maintained. May perform warehouse work to include issuing receiving and inventorying equipment, supplies and materials; loading and unloading of trucks; packing and unpacking material; and repairing or replacing items on equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employe. Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
