    Your role at KIK

     

    The **Scheduling and Raw Materials Manager** is responsible for managing both the short- and long-term production schedule and oversees one direct report that plans raw materials and components at our Chicago production facility. This individual will be required to partner closely with the shipping/receiving, warehousing, & broader operations team along with procurement, customer service, quality, and other functions required to execute their day-to-day responsibilities. Accountable for developing the inventory plan, master production schedule, and guiding the material replenishment plan.     What You’ll Be Doing

    + Manage the KIK Household internal and external master production scheduling and capacity plan for the Chicago site

    + Manage one direct report that plans the raw materials and components

    + Identify capacity constraints and incorporate them into inventory plans and production strategies

    + Monitor and adjust production schedules to accommodate variability in supply and demand signals

    + Identify demand and supply imbalances and create recommendations to resolve

    + Seek ways to improve the efficiency of all related supply and material planning processes

    + Serve as the planning expert for all new item projects that are evaluated and/or introduced into the Chicago plant.

    + Manage inventory targets at factory / category level and strive to reduce inventory and waste while improving service levels

    + Adjust targets as needed to balance supply and demand issues. Communicate any issues to appropriate procurement resource and manager

    + Develop and implement inventory reduction programs. Mitigate exposure to excess inventory cost and waste

    + Monitor raw and packaging material inventory to achieve optimal performance levels and mitigate shortages or supply gaps

    + Coordinate communication across the plant and corporate cross functional teams

    + Ensure demand is planned, communicated, and purchased in a timely manner via tactical and strategic collaboration with suppliers

    + Maintain KPIs related to the role including schedule attainment, inventory levels, demurrage costs, warehouse utilization, finished goods weeks of supply

    + Perform all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements

    + Other duties as assigned

    What You’ll Bring

    + Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or materials management

    + Minimum 5 years of integrated supply chain experience from a strategic and tactical perspective

    + Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to interpret and create dynamic spreadsheets

    + Experience managing within a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Organization

    + ERP experience, preferably with JDE, is required

    + Strong production planning background

    + Knowledge of master planning best practices including inventory optimization and economic order quantity calculations

    + Proven track record of driving metric-based organizations and results

    + Superior cross functional communication skills and influencing without authority

    + Demonstrated ability to create options and highlight trade-offs when solving problems

    + Continuous Improvement methodology including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) acumen and corrective action mindset

    + Preferred ASCM, CPIM or CSCP certified or working towards certification

    + Strong budgeting and cost allocation abilities

    + Impactful and capable of commanding the respect of staff and clients alike
