Job Title: Cash Accountant
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire
Pay Rate: $28.85/hr. to $31.25/hr. (eligible for OT pay for any OT worked during initial contract period)
About: Join our client, a leader within the media space, and play a key role in managing daily cash operations and supporting treasury and accounting functions. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate across departments and with external banking partners, ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes.
+ Key Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with the Treasury and Accounting teams to determine and report the daily cash position.
+ Accurately record all cash-related activities and ensure proper reflection in the general ledger.
+ Prepare and perform monthly reconciliations for multiple bank accounts, including necessary journal entries.
+ Maintain and manage the Oracle Cash Management system.
+ Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments and banking partners for day-to-day cash operations.
+ Support the accurate recording of special financial activities such as voided/cancelled checks, returned items, FX charges, and lost deposits.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve banking issues in coordination with operating banks.
+ Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by department leadership.
+ Required Skills & Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience).
+ Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and cash management principles.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Excel 2003 or later) and Oracle Financial Systems.
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Preferred Experience:
+ 5+ years of experience in treasury operations, bank reconciliations, or related accounting functions.
+ Familiarity with bank operations and financial software tools.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $31.25/hr.
