    *The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Nursing (SON)* is currently recruiting for a *Community* *Program Manager*. This position supports the overall program management for the Community and Public Health Environmental Initiative. The Initiative focuses on improving health oversight and environmental health in the early childcare and education setting. The Program Manager will coordinate the daily activities of the Initiative, oversee staff and student functions, and will assist with addressing budget issues with limited supervision. The Manager will set goals and create tactics to achieve program objectives, and will train staff, faculty and students as needed, including serving as preceptor to nursing students. Employees whose job duties require them to work in clinical settings or at clinical or field sites continue to be subject to the vaccine requirements of those sites.*This position is required to be vaccinated against COVID−19*. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland*. *Primary Duties:* * Manages program, and plans and coordinates daily activities of a program including monitoring relationships with outside agencies or subcontractors. * Manages budget, tracks expenditures, and prepares reports on current finances. * Coordinates and assists in training programs for employees, volunteers, and/or the community. * Plans data management and communications strategy for program. Works with senior management in developing program goals and milestones. * Assists with coordination of clinical opportunities for nursing students. Trains and mentors project staff as needed. * Supports innovations that improve project quality, expand impact, and encourages programmatic growth. * Assists in drafting grant proposals and reports for private and federal funding. * Performs other duties as assigned. *Education:* Bachelor's degree. *Preferred Education:*Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social sciences such as nursing, public health, community public health or discipline appropriate to the position preferred. *Experience:* Four (4) years of experience involving program planning and coordination experience, preferably in community, public health, healthcare or university setting. *Preferred Experience:* Directly related experience working in community health or healthcare setting and/or experience working with children in childcare or school settings preferred. *Supervisory Experience:* Two (2) years of work coordination, training, or supervision. *Preferred Certification/Licensure:* Certified Public Health (CPH) certification preferred. Willingness to become a certified Nurse Medication Administration Trainer within 6 months to 1 year after start of employment preferred. Completion of Eco-Healthy Child Care course offered by the Children’s Environmental Health Network and willingness to serve as a technical consultant to EHS/HS centers hoping to renew or obtain an Eco-Healthy Child Care© Endorsement preferred. *Other:* Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * * Ability to build productive relationships and gain credibility as an administrative and subject matter expert with students, faculty, staff, and community members, including parents, children, and EHS/HS center staff, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. * Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to organize people, tasks, resources, meetings, and special events as well as prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. * Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments in accordance with organizational principles and best practices. * Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures. * Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques. * Advanced writing and editorial skills. * Ability to manage records, gather data, analyze statistical data and generate reports. * Advanced ability with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. *Hiring Range:* $79,000 - $86,000, commensurate with education and experience.
