    STGi is seeking a Life Enrichment Aide to provide services at our Georgia War Veterans Home. GWVH will be opening a new unit that will be dedicated to the needs related to diagnoses of Veterans with PTSD, TBI, history of behavioral disorders, and substance use issues.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of on-going therapeutic programs and activities to meet the diversified interests and therapeutic needs of assigned resident.

    • Provides activities to assigned residents. Ensures that all activities are compliant with federal, state and facility policies.

    • Ensures that all activity programming meets the interests and needs of assigned residents and have a therapeutic outcome to both improve residents’ quality of life and their overall functioning.

    • Coordinates all aspects of therapeutic recreation program for assigned residents, including creating, scheduling, developing, implementing and evaluating programs designed to meet their therapeutic needs.

    • Determines/assesses the individual interests and needs of each assigned resident

    • Estimates time needed for activities and schedules accordingly.

    • Coordinates, updates and maintains documentation and medical information for assigned residents

    • Interacts with residents on a daily basis to affirm their self-esteem and to alleviate feelings of loneliness and depression.

     

    Required SkillsRequired Experience

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    Must have, as a minimum, one (1) years’ experience in an activities or recreation program

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field required.

    NOTE:

    As part of orientation, selected candidates will receive safety care training.

     

    All shifts for Full-time and Part-time openings.

     

    This position is located at 2249 Vinson Highway SE, Milledgeville, GA.
