    We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Drivers of Health to lead the development, implementation, and scaling of initiatives that address drivers of health. This role is responsible for designing and executing innovative pilots across the business, with a focus on improving health outcomes, reducing total cost of care, and advancing promising practices.

    We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Drivers of Health to lead the development, implementation, and scaling of initiatives that address drivers of health. This role is responsible for designing and executing innovative pilots across the business, with a focus on improving health outcomes, reducing total cost of care, and advancing promising practices.

    What You’ll Do

    + Lead the development and evolution of the Drivers of Health (DoH) strategy, including a long-term vision and roadmap aligned with enterprise priorities and signature initiatives.

    + Serve as a thought leader within and outside the organization on best practices and innovation in addressing drivers of health (also known as social determinants of health).

    + Design, launch, and scale pilots and programs that address key drivers of health (e.g., food as medicine (http://www.bluecrossnc.com/blog/expert-takes/transforming-health-care/food-is-medicine) , nutrition security, transportation, and social isolation).

    + Build feedback loops and data collection mechanisms to evaluate outcomes, refine interventions, and demonstrate ROI.

    + Partner with senior leaders across business units to secure sponsorship, alignment, and sustainable funding for Drivers of Health (DoH) initiatives.

    + Develop compelling business cases and pitch materials to receive funding and engage internal and external stakeholders.

    + Build, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary team that supports pilot design, implementation, evaluation, and scaling.

    + Collaborate with internal teams such as data analytics, clinical operations, finance, and community partnerships.

    + Maintain strong external relationships with community organizations, vendors, and policy influencers.

    What You Bring

    + 8–12+ years of relevant experience in healthcare, public health, or related fields; prior leadership in drivers of health, social determinants, or population health initiatives preferred.

    + Strong expertise in health insurance and scaling programs in a healthcare organization.

    + Proven experience designing and scaling innovative programs or pilots in a corporate setting.

    + Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with the ability to translate vision into action.

    + Master’s degree in public health, health policy, business, or a related field strongly preferred.

    Salary Range

     

    At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.

    $131,900.00 - $250,600.00
