    The Production Group Leader is responsible for the successful leadership and direction of the daily operations of the Amnicola facilities. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that all personnel working within their assigned area comply with safety, health, environmental, and production standards while operating within budget guidelines to achieve the overall objectives of the Chattanooga Site.

     

    Maintain plant process control systems for safe and efficient plant operation. Maintain plant recipe system for product quality and traceability. Improve existing plant processes for optimal productivity and efficiency. Assist in plant trials for new or improved products.

    As a Production Group Leader, you create chemistry by...

     

    + Lead and coach Team Leaders and Process Technicians in all plant safety, ecology, quality, legal, and production to meet site objectives.

    + Support the development of the “Zero Incident” mindset as a culture in the Chattanooga operations by becoming the recognized champion for safety and environmental performance.

    + Implement production schedule to meet customer shipments and requirements.

    + Manage the receipt of raw materials to ensure quality, safety, and inventory standards are maintained (SAP).

    + Ensure accuracy of RM/FG inventory.

    + Manage production and shipments of finished products to ensure customer satisfaction, including use of SAP.

    + Management of production records, employee time, and manning for a batch or continuous production operation.

    + Support and continually apply ISO Quality Improvement policies and procedures.

    + Responsible for keeping production operating expenses within the budget.

    + Responsible to work with maintenance in coordinating production equipment downtime for preventive maintenance repairs.

    + Development of high-performance culture within Operations group.

    + Support of BASF Corporate/Division/Site initiatives.

    + Responsible for employee training requirements.

    + Work closely with Process Engineering to achieve these principal responsibilities for the Operations group.

    + Serve as TDS Contact (Transportation-Distribution & Supply Chain) responsible person for the facility pertaining to receipt of raw materials and shipments of products to customers.

    + Serve as Plant Rail Fleet Coordinator in matters pertaining to the NS or CSX railroads and issues pertaining to inbound raw materials and outbound shipments.

    + Release hazardous waste shipments, working with EHS Specialist.

    + Responsibility for the production operations, including direct supervising, of Team Leaders and Process Technicians.

    + Interaction includes Safety, Ecology, HR, Logistics, Maintenance and Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Legal, and Accounting personnel.

    + Interaction with the Supply Chain and Logistic group for production scheduling, coordinating inventory management and insuring customer requirements are fulfilled.

    + Requires in-depth knowledge of synthetic latex production.

    + Requires ability to direct and motivate people.

    + Requires good communications and personal skills.

    + Requires technical knowledge of chemical processes.

    + Requires knowledge of safety practices and techniques relating to the chemical industry.

    + Requires knowledge of personal computers and their operational software.

    + Working knowledge of plant chemical equipment and processes, testing, and computer skills obtained through training and OTJ experience.

    + Knowledge of plant area procedures, plant processes for workflow, and computer control/monitoring/adjustments are required.

    + Mechanical knowledge of equipment breakdown including disassembling of piping and pressure vessels associated in a chemical plant environment.
