Job Title: Electrical TechnicianJob Description

The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing electrician functions, including building electrical control panels, field wiring of standard and custom machines, and installation of electrical components. The role involves installation of switches, motors, transformers, and HMIs, as well as drilling, tapping, mounting, and building enclosures. Commissioning and debugging machinery in the assembly department, servicing machinery at customer locations, and preparing management reports are also key duties.

Responsibilities

+ Build electrical control panels and perform field wiring for standard and custom machines.

+ Install switches, components, motors, transformers, and HMIs.

+ Drill, tap, mount, and build enclosures.

+ Commission and debug machinery in the assembly department.

+ Service machinery at customer locations, which may require travel.

+ Prepare reports as required by management.

+ Analyze and resolve technical electrical problems or assist workers in solving them.

+ Help construct manuals.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in electrical wiring and electrical schematic reading.

+ Mechanical skills and experience with small hand tools.

+ Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and point-to-point wiring.

+ Experience in UL and machine building.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

+ Two to five years of related experience and/or training.

+ Experience with pneumatic and electrical tools, grinders, band saws, sanders, lifting and moving devices, saws, and drills.

+ Knowledge of PLCs and HMIs is a plus.

+ SolidWorks knowledge or experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment offers a small company atmosphere with approximately 50 employees. There is flexibility in start times, and the majority of the work will take place on the floor, building and wiring machines. Minimal travel, less than 10%, may be required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
