Job Title: Engine Development Validation TechnicianJob Description

Join our team as an Engine Development Validation Technician, where you will work alongside engineers in a state-of-the-art propulsion lab. Your role will involve calibration development, conducting mechanical experiments, and performing tests to enhance engine performance.

Responsibilities

+ Collaborate with engineers to perform mechanical swapping of engine components for optimal performance testing.

+ Utilize AVL/PUMA and emissions equipment in a laboratory setting.

+ Engage in engine tuning and calibration using software such as HP Tuners or standalone systems.

+ Operate manual testing on a dynamometer.

+ Work with a Test Engineer to adjust fuel tables, air-intake, spark, and exhaust for optimal performance.

+ Handle component-level work including oil pumps, head or cam changes, fuel injectors, and spark plugs.

+ Assemble, modify, and fabricate components on engines for testing.

+ Perform TIG welding on parts and components.

Essential Skills

+ 3-5 years of experience with engine dynamometers.

+ Hands-on experience with engine rebuild, teardown, assembly, repair, prototype, and troubleshooting.

+ Proficiency in engine tuning using HP Tuners or similar software.

+ Experience with AVL/PUMA and emissions equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate's degree in a relevant field.

+ Lab experience with a focus on testing and development.

+ Calibration experience from personal projects or race team involvement.

Work Environment

The role operates on the 2nd shift from 2-3 pm to 10:30-11:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The work environment includes a clean test lab and garage, part of a large engineering headquarters. The facility offers a full-service cafeteria and is air-conditioned. Employees are required to bring their own basic tools, though a toolbox and specialty tools are provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
