Job Description
We are seeking a Systems Engineer, Electronics to join our growing Tactical Systems Department to support the development of cutting-edge, ruggedized military hardware for air, land, and sea. Our department focuses on tightly integrated, compact sensing and computing technologies to deliver mission-critical information at the edge. Our products have been deployed and proven across all seven continents in the harshest environments on the planet. You will play an active, hands-on role in the development of new systems, hardware, and software designs for products being developed for use in DoD environments. The Systems Engineer will take ownership of electrical requirements analysis activities at the CCA and system level to include requirements generation, allocation, and tracking throughout the development lifecycle as well as hardware testing and validation. This Systems Engineer will also contribute to and support organization-wide efforts across disciplined teams in electrical, mechanical, and software technical areas.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate and lead systems developments to align with customer requirements and company goals.
+ Provide technical leadership to system architecture definition based on the required functionality.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system-level interfaces, performance parameters, and integration points.
+ Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and automated test scripts to validate system functionality and performance.
+ Support system verification, validation, and qualification in laboratory and field environments.
+ Interface frequently with customers, technical management, and cross-disciplinary engineers to resolve technical issues, while optimally balancing cost, schedule, and technical design integrity.
+ Create technical documentation, including system design documents, user manuals, and test reports.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable defense and software engineering standards.
+ Mentor junior Systems Engineers in generating key deliverables to further develop the in-house knowledge base.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
+ 5-8 years of experience in an electrical design and/or systems engineering role.
+ Outstanding analytical, problem solving, planning, and abstract thinking skills.
+ Ability to work independently to formulate systems engineering work products and integrate complex hardware/software systems.
+ Hands-on experience in systems engineering product lifecycle development activities.
+ Hands-on experience with qualification testing per relevant Standards covering expected military customer use environments and operational conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is a plus.
+ Hands-on experience with hardware validation and qualification testing and troubleshooting.
+ Experience with MOSA, SOSA, and/or GCIA standards.
+ Experience with specialized interface protocols including relevant standards and CAN bus.
+ Strong knowledge and experience with multiple safety and software standards.
+ Ability to adapt to fast-moving environments with evolving deadlines and communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
+ Experience using DOORS is a plus.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptation to evolving deadlines and technical challenges. You will be using state-of-the-art technologies and equipment to create ruggedized military hardware. The role may involve working in laboratory and field environments, necessitating a hands-on approach to testing and validation. The dress code is business casual.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $76.00 - $98.00/hr.
