    Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a 4 axis horizontal CNC Mill Machinist for a day shift (6am-2:30pm) position in large aerospace machine shop in Santa Ana, CA. Pay will be based on experience and can range from $35-$45 an hour (can be higher if able to program with mastercam).

     

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in 4 axis horizontal mill setup and operation. A strong understanding of machining processes is essential to ensure efficient and accurate production. Big plus for 5 axis experience as well.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with Planning, Quality, and Production teams to meet production goals.

    + Setup and operate CNC machines from engineering drawings or customer-supplied .step files.

    + Accurately interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements.

    + Diagnose and resolve machine malfunctions and programming errors.

    + Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in efficiency and quality.

    Essential Skills

    + 10+ years combined experience in machining for a machine shop.

    + Proficiency in selecting proper cutters, considering speeds, feeds, and control system limitations.

    + Experience with 3-axis verticals and 4-axis horizontals, with 5-axis experience a big plus for new machines.

    + Comprehensive knowledge of FANUC, OKUMA, and KITAMURA controls.

    + Strong understanding of CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).

    + Experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry and adherence to industry specifications.

    + Expertise in blueprint interpretation and creation.

    + Experience working with various types of metals.

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with mastercam programming a plus .

    + 5-axis machining experience is a plus.

    + Experience using vericut and calipers.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
