Job Title: Marine Equipment Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Marine Equipment Technician with expertise in ship repair and maintenance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in marine systems and a strong understanding of technical support for shipboard systems and integrated equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify marine equipment.

+ Perform maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems and related equipment/software at various locations.

+ Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to resolve issues quickly.

+ Apply comprehensive understanding of production and processes to complete assignments.

+ Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and provide work direction to others.

+ Perform a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.

+ Develop and utilize technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, and reports.

+ Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management.

+ Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignments.

Essential Skills

+ Marine systems expertise

+ Ship repair knowledge

+ Experience with valves, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines

+ Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals

+ Experience with various power tools and measurement devices

+ Knowledge of safety and quality control procedures

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Must be a U.S. citizen

+ High School diploma or equivalent

+ 2 years of related experience

+ Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing structural and mechanical systems

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

+ Ability to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date

This position is located at Naval Station Norfolk, providing an exciting opportunity to work in a strategic maritime environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
