As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of systems components by performing source inspections at suppliers' sites. You will lead quality reviews with suppliers and request detailed corrective actions for repetitive issues. This position involves evaluating overall supplier performance and initiating corrective actions as needed. You will provide visibility on open actions and follow-up presentations to management using PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
+ Perform source inspections at suppliers to evaluate the quality of systems components.
+ Lead quality reviews with suppliers to ensure adherence to standards.
+ Request detailed corrective actions from suppliers for repetitive issues.
+ Evaluate overall supplier performance and initiate corrective actions requests.
+ Provide visibility on open actions and follow-ups through PowerPoint presentations to management.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in supplier quality management.
+ Experience in the Aerospace industry, either OEM or systems supplier.
+ Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
+ Strong skills in quality assurance and quality engineering.
+ Familiarity with PPAP, Six Sigma, and corrective action plans.
+ Strong investigation and analysis skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical degree in Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality and/or quality assurance.
+ Strong leadership, problem-solving, flexibility, and project management skills.
+ Experience intervening with suppliers.
+ Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Flexibility and availability to travel locally and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
Work Environment
You will join a fast-growing company in the STEM field, offering competitive pay, incremental vacation, benefits, and other perks. In this role, you will be part of a special task force to bring critical suppliers back to expected standards, acting as a direct point of contact. The Supplier Quality Management team is working with a list of over 20 critical suppliers, forming a special intervention team of up to 30 SQMs to identify gaps and support suppliers in their corrective action plans. The role involves travel, as you'll be assigned to support various suppliers. A 'buddy system' is in place to assist with onboarding and ensure maximum supplier coverage, with teams split across five leaders in Montreal and Toronto.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
