Job Title: Manufacturing Technician - Staging
Job Description
This exciting opportunity is within the Microbiology Division, where you will contribute to manufacturing products that make a significant impact. As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a crucial role in the production process of agars, ensuring product quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
+ Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery, perform simple maintenance, and promptly report any equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor or Lead.
+ Set up and adjust machines to accommodate different sizes.
+ Obtain necessary materials from the warehouse or staging area to meet operational needs.
+ Organize production flow, ensure material availability, estimate line progress, and schedule breaks in alignment with production time schedules, all while maintaining safety standards.
+ Document work accurately, monitor product quality and compliance, check for defects, and assist with the inventory process.
+ Dispense required additives to media accurately, perform techniques to achieve pH balance, and investigate and resolve potential production failures.
+ Adhere to all written procedures, report discrepancies in procedures to the Area Supervisor, and perform all activities safely while using personal protective equipment.
+ Report property damage and safety hazards immediately to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist, or Management.
+ Complete production assignments timely and according to departmental schedules.
+ Sign off on DHRs in the appropriate places and fill in relevant information as per SOPs.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in manufacturing, GMP, production, staging, production support, and inventory management.
+ Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
+ Proficiency in basic math calculations.
+ Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 600 lb wheeled kettles.
+ Capability to stand for prolonged periods, approximately 10 hours a day.
+ Ability to distinguish colors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
+ Experience in science or related fields can be beneficial.
Work Environment
The work environment is a laboratory/cleanroom setting. The position is a 1st shift role with working hours from 6 am to 2:30 pm. The environment encourages safety and precision, requiring adherence to personal protective equipment guidelines
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.17 - $19.17/hr.
