Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description
Join our team as a Quality Assurance Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality in our food manufacturing facility. Your primary focus will be on testing finished products for acid, salt, pH, sulfites, metal detection, fill weights, drained weights, defects, and abnormal colors or flavors. You will also perform audits and problem solve issues related to product quality, ensuring correct coding on packaging and cases.
Responsibilities
+ Test finished products for acid, salt, pH, sulfites, and perform metal detection.
+ Check fill weights, drained weights, defects, and abnormal colors or flavors.
+ Ensure correct coding on packaging and cases.
+ Perform audits and solve issues related to product quality.
+ Complete Quality Assurance/Control paperwork.
+ Comply with GMPs, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA, HACCP, USDA, and other safety regulations.
Essential Skills
+ Degree in Sciences such as Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Food Science, Biochemistry, etc.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Ability to uphold quality standards and hold manufacturing accountable.
+ Previous experience in food manufacturing or HACCP/Food Safety.
+ 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
+ 1+ years of GMP and FDA/USDA experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous food manufacturing or HACCP/Food Safety experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is based in a food manufacturing facility known for its sauerkraut production, where the smell can be intense at times. While primarily a lab-based position, it requires sample collection on the floor. There are multiple openings with shifts from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime, especially during harvest season. Training will occur on the day shift and last 2-4 weeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
