    Job Title: Technical Designer

    Job Description

    As a Technical Designer, you will execute project deliverables within the allotted time frame as coordinated by the project manager. You will coordinate documentation that captures design decisions while holistically addressing the 3D space, ensuring alignment with programmatic needs and considering materials, volumes, and performance. You will apply your basic knowledge of spatial and program requirements, design, and construction standards to problem-solve conflicts and align with design intent. Your role involves creating design documentation from the Schematic through the Construction Administration phase under the oversight of the project manager, utilizing CAD drafting and coordinating with vendors.

    Responsibilities

    + Coordinate and execute custom furniture and fixture details in alignment with design direction as directed by the project manager.

    + Review outside consultants' drawings, including architectural, drafting, millwork, and custom furniture.

    + Assist in the creation of redlines.

    + Support the Project Manager and/or Job Captain with shop drawing reviews, submittals, and RFIs.

    + Coordinate design documentation to comply with standard construction methods and design detailing.

    + Collaborate with the design team to solve issues that arise during the documentation process.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD with technical architecture experience for restaurant projects.

    + Experience in leading construction administration for restaurant projects.

    + Knowledge in architecture, design, interior architecture, drafting, design development, and construction documentation.

    + Ability to produce millwork drawings in AutoCAD.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design.

    + 6-15 years of experience in construction documentation on restaurant projects.

    + Experience in managing and coordinating projects through multiple teams.

    + Proficiency in Sketchup is a plus for interpreting renderings.

    Work Environment

    The office prioritizes the quality of work, maintaining a team size of 18-20 people. Standard work hours are Monday to Thursday in the office, with Fridays as remote workdays. The work environment is creative and collaborative, with a clear structure led by a Visionary, Creative Director, and Design Director. The technical team focuses on millwork and furniture detailing, while the creative team handles FF&E specifications. The company works primarily in the hospitality sector, with a focus on restaurants and hotels, and occasionally on high-end luxury homes.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
