Job Title: Structural DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Designer with 5–7 years of experience in heavy industrial or power plant environments. This role focuses on the design and detailing of substation structures, including structural steel and reinforced concrete components. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD, have strong 3D modeling capabilities, and be comfortable collaborating with engineering teams and vendors.
Responsibilities
+ Produce detailed design drawings for structural steel and reinforced concrete.
+ Develop layouts and conceptual designs for substation structures.
+ Prepare fabrication drawings and ensure compliance with industry standards.
+ Collaborate closely with design engineers and vendors to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
+ Support project execution from concept through construction documentation.
Essential Skills
+ 5–7 years of experience in structural design within heavy industrial or power plant settings.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with 3D modeling is a strong plus.
+ Strong knowledge of steel and concrete detailing.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with substation structure design.
+ Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
+ Structural Steel Detailing experience using the AISC regulation guide.
+ Structural Steel design experience using AutoCAD or 3D Platforms such as Advanced Steel.
Work Environment
Flexible hybrid work model after initial onboarding. Opportunity to work on impactful energy infrastructure projects in a collaborative and supportive team environment. Must reside within 1 hour of The Energy Center and be willing to work onsite for 1–2 weeks during onboarding, with the option to work remotely thereafter.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
